WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe
• that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, in the inerrancy of Scripture in the Original Autograph (Job 32:8), that it is His holy and inspired Word, and that it is of supreme and final authority (2 Tim. 3:16).
• that God in the Scriptures has progressively revealed Himself through the Scriptures and directly through the Prophets (Eph. 2:19-22)
• that God created a host of angels, some of whom followed the lead of Lucifer, now called Satan, in rebelling against God, thereby bringing sin into the world. We believe in Satan's ultimate complete defeat by the Lord Jesus Christ (Gen. 3:15; Rev. 20:2).
• that man was created in the image of God, that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and, become sinners in thought, word and deed. With such a nature, we are incapable of producing anything acceptable to God (Gen 3:8-24; Rom. 3:10-12).
• that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, is true God and true man, led a sinless life, and took on Himself all our sins. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus Christ, and in His ascension into heaven (Mat 1:20), and is seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and advocate (Ac. 1:9-11; Ps. 68:18; Eph. 4:8-10).
• that all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross, and that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and is justified by grace through faith, thereby become the children of God (Eph. 2:8-10; Jn. 3:3-8)
• that it is the supreme responsibility of believers to testify to the saving power of the gospel (Acts 1:8).
• that the Church had its historical beginning at Pentecost; and is composed solely of believers. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through the working of the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 2:1-41; Eph 4:11-13; Ps 133:1; Phil 2:1-3)
• that the Great Commission of the church is to go into the entire world and preach the Gospel to every person and make disciples for the Kingdom of God. We believe in using every modern means of communication available to us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. (Mk 16:15; Lk 14:23; Matt 28:19-20; Acts 1:7-8; Mk 16:15-16)
• that it is the duty of each believer to live a holy life unto God, keeping himself/ herself unspotted from the world, dedicate himself/ herself anew to the service of his/ her Lord, and that it is God's intention that this shall be accomplished in the believer's life by his/ her constant dependence on the divine enablement of the indwelling Holy Spirit (Psa. 1:1-2; 119:1-8; Jn. 2:15-17).
• that the believers must have concern for the hurts and social needs of our fellowmen (Col 3:12-14;
Rom 15:1-2)
• in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost (Matt. 25:31-46).
• that at any moment the Rapture of the saved may occur, when "the Lord himself shall descend from heaven" to catch up His people to meet Him "in the air" (I Thess. 4:13-18).
• in the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will then set up His kingdom upon the earth for His thousand-year reign, after which He will deliver the kingdom to the Father (Matt. 24:29- 31).
